Pilates method is a gentle training excercise which offers you more
balance, strength and flexibility - regardless of age and body
condition. Through a profound breathing technique and accessible
movement sequences, you will gain a better body awareness, posture,
coordination, concentration and stamina. Pilates is used by dancers, singers and actors alike, and also as a preventative health excercise for back pain and other maladies. The method is often recommended by orthopedist and physiotherapist as a rehab-training. Silke Wiegand has studied dance at the Laban Centre London and Pilates at the Body in Balance Studio Berlin (PMA, Deutscher Pilates Verband) with Joanna Mountifield. Since 2001 Silke has been working as a dance artist (Staatstheater Darmstadt, Oper Frankfurt, Robin Howard Theatre London, etc.), and Pilates trainer for groups and private instruction in Berlin and Frankfurt.
